Minhan Nguyen

Minhan NguyenXin chào mọi người! Hi everyone, my name is Minhan Nguyen. I was born in Vietnam and moved to the US when I was ten years old. Our family relocated to the Bay Area, and I have been living here since.

I completed my BA in International Relations at UC Davis, and during my time there, I studied abroad in Japan and Egypt. The experiences planted a seed that motivated me to be curious and open-minded about the world. My first job out of college was working at an English Learning school in San Francisco; it was a wonderful experience as I met students from all over the world! After a few years, I started a new job as an international student advisor at UC Berkeley, continuing to work with international students until I began my master’s program in 2018. I completed my master’s in counseling at San Francisco State in May 2020.

I joined the Laney counseling team in Fall 2020 as an adjunct and a student.  Currently, I am studying Chinese and ethnic studies. It has been wonderful to engage with students from different angles as a counselor and as a peer.

In my free time, I love to travel and immerse myself in the K-pop/K-drama world.

I am fluent in Vietnamese and a beginner in Chinese & Japanese.

You can reach me via appointment on the Laney Counseling website or by email- manguyen@peralta.edu
