What is DSPS? Disabled Students Program and Services (DSPS) offers a variety of services to facilitate the success of students with disabilities in reaching their educational goals.
Support services are determined by a DSPS counselor for students with various disabilities as indicated by the verification of disability. Contact DSPS for an intake appointment.
A student may be provided accommodations or services such as, but not limited to, the following:
- Exam accommodations
- Assessment for learning disabilities
- Alternate media
- Adaptive technologies
- Interpreter services
- Faculty liaison
- Priority registration
- Specialized counseling
- Specialized instruction
What is Laney Community College’s policy regarding students with disabilities? It is the policy and practice of Laney Community College that otherwise qualified students having disabilities be authorized academic accommodations, adjustments, and auxiliary aids to ensure access and opportunity to all of the college services, programs and activities. Laney DSPS was established to more fully accommodate the academic and support needs of students with disabilities as mandated by Section 504 and 508 of the Rehabilitation Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
