Laney College is pleased to open applications for a full-time tenure-track position for English for Speakers of Other Languages. At the heart of vibrant, multicultural downtown Oakland, the ESOL department serves a diverse student population in preparation for university transfer classes, career and technical education and life skills in credit courses as well as our newly-developed and growing enhanced non-credit courses. We welcome dedicated and collaborative applicants to join our team. Deadline is July 31, 2017 to begin in the Spring 2018 semester.
Temporary, Part-Time Instructor

Minimum qualifications include:
1. Possession of a Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in TESL, TESOL, applied linguistics with a TESL emphasis, linguistics with a TESL emphasis, English with a TESL emphasis, or education with a TESL emphasis;
2. Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in TESL, TESOL, English with a TESL certificate, linguistics with a TESL certificate, applied linguistics with a TESL certificate, or any foreign language with a TESL certificate;
possession of a Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in linguistics, applied linguistics, English, composition, bilingual/bicultural studies, reading, speech, or any foreign language;
3. May submit a fully satisfied lifetime California Community College Instructor Credential authorizing service to teach courses in TESOL.
(California credentials were no longer issued after July 1, 1990).
