The courses offered by the Mathematics Department form three categories:
Transferable Courses: Math courses with one- or two-digit course numbers are transferable to UC and CSU, except trigonometry courses (Math 50, 52A, 52B, 52C), which are transferable to CSU only (not to UC.) All these are also associate degree applicable.
Nontransferable but Associate Degree Applicable Courses: Math courses numbered 200 through 249 are not transferable to UC/CSU, but they are still “associate degree applicable.”
Basic Skills Courses (neither transferable nor associate-degree-applicable): Math courses numbered 250 or higher don’t count toward the units needed for getting an associate degree. But many students find it necessary to take these courses to improve their math skills in preparation for degree-applicable courses.
