Juanita Ulloa

Dr. Juanita Ulloa is an international Operachi singer and Professor of Voice raised in Mexico, Panama and Spain with unparalleled knowledge in Mexican, Spanish, and many Vocal Hispanic traditions (folkloric & classical). She was reviewed alongside Santana as artists in a niche of their own (Hispanic Magazine). She sings to inspire others with the beauty of Hispanic vocal music. Ms. Ulloa solos at international Olympic & major events, festivals & Latin Pops symphonies. She has recorded six Mexican CDs, & has won Festival de la canción latinoamericana, NATS, Disney and Parent’s Choice awards. In 2018 she published 3 volumes of Mexican Art Song. Dr. Ulloa publishes on the Mariachi Voice in SYWTS World Music Series and upcoming with Oxford (2020). She holds music degrees from Yale University, UC Berkeley, & D.A. in vocal performance from University of No. Colorado (2015). She has taught at UTEP (EL Paso), Texas State University, Austin Comm. College, and currently teaches voice at Laney Community College and the CA Jazz Conservatory in the Bay Area, California, and also serves on the board of the Bay Chapter of National Association of Teachers of Singing.
