Basic Photography

Class: 1 hour lecture, 3 hours laboratory
Students must supply their own 35 mm adjustable camera.

Description:  Basic introduction to black and white and color photography: Theory and practical application, equipment and accessories; complete laboratory facilities available in which to develop film and produce photographic enlargements.

 

Photojournalism I

Students must supply their own digital single-lens re e (DSLR) camera

Description: Components of photojournalism: Focus on theory and practice in press and online publications, using the camera as reporting and communications tool, emphasizing photographic composition for impact, clarity and creativity.

Description: Production of images on a variety of subjects to be viewed and evaluated on techniques, composition, lighting, and color harmony emphasi ing the concepts of Point, Line and Plane Either digital or traditional lm cameras may be used.

Introduction to Digital Photography

Description: Introduction to digital photography: Theory and practical application, camera operation, image adjustment and file management, use of standard industry editing software. May be substituted for Photo 10 in the AS degree. This class is a prerequisite for all subsequent shooting classes.

Description: Advanced DSLR camera exploration of still and motion video: Intermediate to advanced techniques of shooting high resolution stills and full HD video, exploration of the DS R aesthetic, emphasis on popular lo-cost alternatives to video production.

Description: Introduction to vocational photography.  Improve your camera skills or pursue a career as a professional photographer with both digital and film mediums. Emphasis on the fundamentals of camera capture, basic lighting with artificial and available light. Improve your photography using industry practices in the commercial, portraiture, event, wedding, photojournalism, fine art and fashion markets.

Photography as a business and establishing a workflow. Developing Real Time assignments as they apply to different photography markets: editorial, advertising, event, portraiture, wedding, fashion and photojournalism.

Description: Advanced level of photography designed for students to develop their individual style and portfolio. Concentrating on the aesthetics and professional quality of their photography. Working as a professional photographer on real time assignments both individually and as a team. Mastering your digital medium in the different photography markets: commercial, documentation, editorial, advertising, portraiture, fashion and photojournalism.
