Course Description
Introductory economic concepts: Measurements of national income and production; causes of inflation, recession, and depression; money and banking; government monetary and fiscal (spending and taxation) policies; stabilization techniques; economic growth; history of economic thought and philosophy
Student Learning Outcomes
- Evaluate the economic institutions and processes in the U.S. and compare them with those in use elsewhere.
- Identify, analyze and interpret data for trends. Construct graphs from given data.
- Compare and analyze the core theories of economics, using the basic economic vocabulary and the standard tools of economic analysis.
