JACC Awards The Citizen!

The Journalism Association of Community Colleges recognized The Citizen with several awards April 21, 2020. Toni Cervantes won a first place award for her photo story essay about conditions at the U.S.-Mexico border. Luke Wrin Piper won an award for his sports story highlighting Laney’s track stars. Editor-in-Chief, Isis Piccillo, won two awards: one for their investigative piece about all-gender restroom compliance at Peralta and again for their political cartoon!
