Pocket House

Trying to Solve Homelessness in Oakland

The Pocket House is our current tiny house(s) under construction. We have partnered with the City of Oakland to make 2 tiny house prototypes for homeless relief housing in Oakland with the aim of building a community of tiny houses using cutting edge advanced manufacturing techniques.

There are 2 models –

Model M: built on a 16 foot trailer with a bed, desk, closet, full bathroom and kitchen

and

Model S: a studio with a desk, bed and closet built on a 12 foot trailer

All construction is being done in class – CARP 221 for Spring 2018 – email Matt Wolpe for more information: mwolpe@peralta.edu
