We will be using the following textbooks:
- Chemistry: The Central Science, 15th edition, by Brown, LeMay, Bursten, Murphy, Woodward, and Stoltzfus. Alternatively, you may use the 14th, 13th, 12th, 11th, or 10th edition of this same book.
- Chemistry 1B Lab Manual (only available at the Laney College Bookstore) OR you may print the experiments from this website (see the Chem 1B Laboratory page).
- A lab notebook with duplicate pages. Hayden-McNeil publishes different versions of a “Student Lab Notebook”.
Preparation for the first week of class:
We will be starting with Chapter 14, so you can begin by reading that chapter.
