Visiting Team Chair:
Dr. Pamela Luster
President, San Diego Mesa College
Dr. Pamela Luster is the President of San Diego Mesa College; she is in her 10th year. Previously she served as the Vice President of Student Services, Interim Vice President of Instruction, and Dean of Academic Services at Las Positas College. At West Valley College she held the position of Dean of Career Education and Workforce Development and started her career as a faculty member in the Disabled Students program.
Dr. Luster's service includes membership on several local, state, and national boards, including San Diego Youth Services (SDYS), San Diego Mesa College Foundation, California Community College Athletics Association, and the American Association of Community Colleges Commission for Diversity, Equity and Inclusion. She currently serves as the President of the CEOCCC and the Task Force on Affordability, Food and Housing. Dr. Luster is an adjunct faculty member at San Diego State University's Doctoral Program in Community College Leadership.
Visiting Team Assistant Chair:
Dr. Ailene Crakes
Dean of Student Development, San Diego Mesa College
Dr. Ailene Crakes is responsible for the overall planning, coordination, and assessment of programs under the School of Student Development. With over twenty-five years of experience working with diverse student populations, Dr. Crakes led various programs and services, including Admissions and Records, Veterans Success Center, Counseling, Transfer, Evaluations, Career, Orientation, and Personal Growth curriculum. She leads San Diego Mesa College’s Student Equity and Achievement Program and co-coordinates the Olympian Pathways Prototype, an equity-minded program designed to serve Mesa’s student-athletes.
Dr. Ricky Shabazz
President, San Diego City College
Dr. Shabazz provides executive leadership at one of the most innovative and socially active community colleges in the nation with a focus on student completion, success, and social justice. He has previously held positions as Vice President of Student Services, San Bernardino Valley College; Dean of Student Services, El Camino College Compton Center; Associate Director of Admissions, Harvey Mudd College; MESA Program Director and Assistant Director of Undergraduate Admissions, University of California, Davis (UCD); and Analyst in the University of California Office of the President.
Dr. Laurie Scolari
Associate Vice President Student Services, Foothill College - Los Altos Hills CA
Dr. Scolari oversees the following departments: Counseling, Fin Aid, Admissions & Records, Psychological Services, EOPS, Student Affairs & Activities, Disability Resource Center, Veterans Resource Center. She previously worked for the Chancellors Office for California Community Colleges as a Regional Coordinator for Guided Pathways for the Bay Area. Dr. Scolari served as the Dean of Counseling and Student Support Services at City College of San Francisco for seven years and worked at UC Santa Cruz for 10 years in multiple leadership roles.
Dr. Tammi Marshall
Department Chair, Mathematics, Cuyamaca College - El Cajon CA
A Mathematics Instructor and Department Chair, Tammi Marshall has been at Cuyamaca College since 1997. Tammi is the Co-chair of the college’s Institutional Effectiveness Council and works hard to ensure the college uses data in all its decision making. Having led the department and college in their acceleration efforts, Tammi is proud to work with the California Acceleration Project as a math coach and the Dana Center’s Math Pathways as a facilitator for workshops, webinars, and FOCI series presenting to college and university audiences in California and nationally.
Ms. Jenny Langrell
Systems Librarian & Library Coordinator, Saddleback College - Mission Viejo CA
Ms. Langrell has worked in higher education for over 25 years at several community colleges including Cypress, Fullerton, Golden West, and Saddleback Colleges. She has taught library courses online for over 18 years, and served in several different college roles including Senate Executive Committee, ACCJC Evaluation Team, DE Committee Chair, Faculty Association Membership Chair and Negotiating Team, and Department Chair. Before Jenny worked in education, she served in the United States Air Force and worked at Disneyland.
Ms. Fabiola Torres
Instructor of Ethnic Studies, Glendale Community College
Fabiola Torres is an online Ethnic Studies professor at Glendale Community College and Equity facilitator for the Online Network of Educators (@ONE) for the California Community College system. During the pandemic, Fabi promoted equity-minded methods such as culturally responsive teaching in the online environment, and humanizing online teaching and learning. She was a featured faculty at InstructureCon 2019 for her humanizing online methods in Canvas and was awarded the Online Learning Consortium Advocate Award for Diversity and Inclusion in July of 2020.
Oleg Bespalov
Dean of Institutional Effectiveness, Moorpark College
Oleg Bespalov is currently the Dean of Institutional Effectiveness at Moorpark College. Prior to joining Moorpark College, Oleg provided leadership for institutional effectiveness at Taft College, Pierce College, UniversityNow, and the San José-Evergreen Community College District. Oleg also held research positions at Bridgepoint Education, Temple University, Princeton University, and ETS.
Dr. Melinda Womack
Professor of Communication & Faculty Coordinator for Student Equity
Santiago Canyon College - Orange CA
Dr. Womack has served on 8 peer review teams, and served on three of her own institution’s accreditation experiences
Morris Rodrigue
Vice President of Administrative Services, Mt. San Antonio Community College - Walnut CA
Mr. Rodrigue oversees the District Budget, Fiscal Services, Campus Safety, Technology, Facilities, and the Building Program. Before moving to Mt. SAC, he spent 20 years at Shasta College, where he served as a Mathematics Faculty Member, Instructional Dean, and Vice President of Administrative Services.
Dr. Nicole Albo-Lopez
Vice President of Academic Affairs, Los Angeles Mission College - Sylmar CA
Dr. Albo-Lopez served as Dean of Academic Affairs and Workforce Development at Los Angeles Trade Technical College, overseeing and supporting areas including workforce development, curriculum, catalog and scheduling, library, non-credit, tutoring, and the launch of the Liberal Arts Pathway. As Vice President at San Diego City College, she serves as Accreditation Liaison Officer and sits on the Los Angeles Community College District Accreditation committee. She is dedicated to working with the campus community to meet the goals of the College's Integrated Strategic Master Plan, focused on institutional effectiveness, student outcomes, and fiscal stability.
