Teach-In at Laney College

Staff & students are invited to participate in a Teach-In about the movement to end poverty and get housing and good public schools for all! It’s an educational community and civic engagement opportunity. Please consider offering it to your students.

The Teach-In takes place next Tues, 10/10, on Zoom starting at 11:30 am and going until 3 pm.

Hosted by the Laney Poor People’s Campaign and co-sponsored by Associated Students of Laney College.

There will also be a live viewing of the zoom Teach-In at Laney College in the Umoja Village, located in Eagle Village 3.  We will have pizza and beverages. Come join students and some of the speakers there!

Speakers include:

• Peralta Students, former foster care youth, and elders facing homelessness and advocating for solutions.
• Oakland City Council Member Carroll Fife presenting her plan for truly affordable housing for Oaklanders.
• Leaders in the California Poor People’s Campaign
• Just added: Pecolia Manigo speaking about Reparations for Black Students and Quality Education in Oakland Schools
