Facilities Status Updates – Summer 2018

Large Scale Facilities Projects For Summer 2018

Project: Leak Remediation Project
Timelines: From May 26 through August 20. Classes will be accessible by the fall (2018) with some clean-up work still ongoing until the end of September.
Impact: Upper Buildings F, G, A, and the upper walkway near fitness center (Building C).
Please Note: NO ACCESS to the affected rooms through August 20.

Project: Tower Building Elevator
Timelines: From May 28 through December 9
Impact: Only one elevator will be in service at the Tower during this time period.

Project: Secureall: Campus Electronic Keyless Entry
Timelines: Currently, in beta-testing phase at Field House; Art Center in progress
Impact: When beta testing is completed, work will be sequenced out over the summer. Rooms will be accessible while work is in progress.

Large Scale IT Projects For Summer 2018 

Project: Canvas Rollout for Faculty
Timelines: ASAP – Please open a helpdesk (helpdesk.peralta.edu) ticket to facilitate migration to Canvas
Impact: Moodle platform will no longer be available after summer 2018.

Project: SMART Classrooms – Phase 2
Timelines: Board approval June 12; Work early to start July through fall 2018.
Impact: 70 classrooms, including: Forum, Theatre, and labs.
Please note: Classes will be accessible; work to take place after-hours.
