In light of the COVID-19 pandemic, Laney College is offering limited grants  to assist students who are struggling with transportation, healthcare, housing/rent, childcare, utilities and food- that might interfere with attending school.

If you are facing a one-time financial emergency, we may be able to help.

Keeping Students Connected Internet & Computer Support Fund

  • Grant Amount: 6-months free internet and a laptop or desktop computer to keep.
  • Purpose: Support student computer and internet access to achieve educational goal.
  • Eligibility Requirements: Enrolled in a minimum of three (3.0) units at Laney College and NOT a current Comcast subscriber.
  • To Apply: Complete the online application.

AT&T Oakland Promise Emergency Support Scholarship

  • Grant Amount: $100.00, one-time grant provided as a check*
  • Purpose: Assist students with the cost of books, classes, housing, tools and supplies needed to further their education.
  • To Apply: Complete the online application by May 3, 2020
  • Eligibility Requirements: Oakland Promise Student enrolled full-time in a Peralta College (BCC, CoA, Laney, or Merritt); completed a Student Educational Plan with a counselor; live in Alameda county; have a minimum 2.5 GPA; and demonstrate financial need.
