Held on the Laney College Bistro Patio, the celebration drew an enthusiastic crowd of students, faculty, staff, and community members. The event featured remarks from Laney and Peralta Community College District leadership, whose speeches underscored the transformational impact of these new facilities and the world-changing work happening every day at Laney.

Guests toured two of Laney’s most dynamic spaces—the FabLab and Cosmetology Department—during afternoon Open Houses, which showcased how Measure G bond funding continues to revitalize the campus.
The three construction projects will significantly enhance Laney’s learning, arts, and athletic environments:
Library & Learning Resource Center: Designed by Noll & Tam Architects, built by Thompson Builders, and managed by Jacobs.
Locker Room Renovation: Designed by SVA Architects, built by Rodan, and managed by Jacobs.
Theater Modernization: Designed by ELS Architects, built by D.L. Falk, and managed by Jacobs.
These facilities will expand access to technology, create inclusive and inspiring spaces for study and collaboration, and support Laney’s robust arts and athletics programs.
Laney’s Eagles spirit was on full display throughout the afternoon, with campus and district teams coming together to mark this exciting new chapter. The event also coincided with the Peralta Board of Trustees meeting, held on campus later that evening—another proud opportunity to showcase Laney’s achievements and the strength of its community.
The celebration concluded with refreshments and community conversation, highlighting a shared commitment to equity, access, and innovation in public education.
