The theme is “Creating Public Safety through Political Power, Justice and Democracy.  It will be offered hybrid: you can join via zoom (use QR code on the flyer) or you and your students can watch in-person at the Umoja Village (Eagle Village 3).  We will have pizza sponsored by the Associated Students of Laney College (ASLC).  IN-PERSON SPACE IS LIMITED, so please register soon. It will be an educational event about the connection of political power and democracy to real public safety.  Please register soon because in-person space is limited!
We are honored to have just confirmed that our featured speaker will be Alameda Country District Attorney, Pamela Price. DA Price was democratically elected by the voters of Alameda County on a progressive reform platform in 2022. The first Black woman in this position.  Almost immediately, she was n targeted for a recall campaign that is being funded by wealthy real estate developers and hedge fund managers who are part of the affordable housing crisis as well.
