The Office of Institutional Research (IR) at Laney College supports the college’s mission and commitment to institutional effectiveness, student success, and campus climate by:

• Providing high-quality, accessible, and relevant data, research, and analytical tools.
• Supporting evidence-based decision-making, strategic planning, and continuous improvement efforts.

The IR Office collaborates with administrative, instructional, and student support departments to advance Laney College’s commitment to racial equity and ensure an inclusive learning and working environment. Our efforts to improve outcomes for racially minoritized students and employees include:

• Applying a race-conscious and equity-minded approach to data collection, analysis, and reporting.
• Embedding critical equity concepts into training and resources to enhance understanding of racial equity data.
• Creating opportunities for faculty, staff, and administrators to engage in equity-minded inquiry and address equity gaps.
• Facilitating communities of practice centered on equity data.
• Integrating racial equity values into all aspects of our work.

Research Request

Please be sure to review our collection of datasets before making a request, as the information you need may already be available.  If you are a Peralta affiliate (faculty, staff, student) and require additional research/data, follow the instructions below to submit a request via the Peralta Help Desk. Outside individuals and institutions should email their requests to laneyresearch@peralta.edu.

1) Log in with using your Peralta email address and password.

2) Select Research (Laney) as the Request Type.

3) Complete the short form and provide the details of your request. Your name and contact information are already saved in the Help Desk system. If you are unsure how to answer any of the questions on the form (e.g. semesters, start/end date), please elaborate in the details section.
