Laney is an accredited and comprehensive community college committed to student learning and success! We are a diverse and culturally rich institution that takes pride in providing quality education and student services, while responding to the needs of the local and global community/economy. We want you to succeed while you are here, and equally important, we want to prepare you for your life and work beyond Laney. To that end, we offer education and training for jobs of the 21st century. Our green jobs initiative and career and technical degree and certificate offerings are preparing the skilled workforce of tomorrow.
Conveniently located in the Downtown/Lake Merritt area of Oakland, CA, Laney College offers over 800 day, evening, weekend and online classes year-round, providing students in all walks of life the opportunity to take advantage of all Laney has to offer. Laney truly has something for everyone and is home to 14,000 students who are taking advantage of Laney’s diverse programs, rich campus life, and dynamic course offerings. Whether you are interested in transferring to a university, updating your skill-set for the workforce, starting a new career in one of our relevant career technical education programs, or simply taking courses as one of our life-long learners, Laney will work for you!
