Congratulations Graduation Candidates! We encourage you to participate in the Commencement Ceremony to celebrate the successful completion of your degree or certificate. This year the theme for the commencement ceremony is “Looking Forward to a New Quality of Life”
- Graduation Announcements, Caps, Gowns and Tassels may be purchased at the Laney College Bookstore.
- It is strongly recommended that commencement participants attend Rehearsal on May 11th.
- All graduates participating in the Ceremony Saturday May 25th should arrive by 8:00AM to register and enjoy the Graduate reception.
- Please come dressed in cap and gown. Arrange for someone in the audience to carry your purse, cell phone, etc.
- Please have your guests arrive between 9:00-9:30. The ceremony will begin promptly at 10:00am.
- If you require special assistance and need accommodations, please contact the Disabled Students Programs and Services office at (510) 464-3428.
- At least two professional color photographs of each graduate will be taken by GradImages Photography depicting approaching the stage and receiving the diploma. Each graduate will receive information for ordering prints and a preview of the pictures via email.
Actual diplomas and certificates for Spring graduates will be available in July 2013. Letters of notification will be sent to graduates informing you of the arrival of your diploma or certificate. All diplomas are to be picked up at the Laney College Admissions and Records Office, 900 Fallon Street, Oakland, Room A109.
