(SACRAMENTO – June 2018) California Community Colleges’ Strong Workforce Stars, an annual recognition highlights career education programs that demonstrate exceptionally strong post-college outcomes awarded stars to 29 CTE programs in the Peralta Community College District (PCCD), including those at Laney College.
The awarded programs are recognized for strong post-college outcomes in three important factors for advancing social mobility: 1) a substantial increase in earnings, 2) attainment of a living wage, and 3) a job closely matched with the field of study.
Selected programs in the “Class of 2018” were segmented into three categories: Gold, Silver, and Bronze which identify the number of factors achieved.
Among the 29 PCCD CTE programs that were selected, 22 earned a Bronze Star, and seven programs achieved the distinction of Silver Star status!
