Jennifer Iljas earned her BA and MA from San Francisco State University, and her PhD from the California Institute of Integral Studies. She has written an introduction to psychology textbook and a book on sexology for young people. She is also developing curriculum for a course in Sports Psychology. Among the courses she teaches are Introduction to Psychology (1A), and Lifespan Human Development (21), Introduction to Research Methods in Psychology (28) and Human Sexuality (12).

Kimberly King earned her BA in Psychology from Yale University and her MA and PhD in Psychology from the University of California, Los Angeles. She is a community organizer and committed advocate for social justice leading numerous workshops and teach-ins both on and off campus. Currently, she is the Chairperson of the Peralta Federation of Teachers Diversity Committee, as well as the Faculty Co-Coordinator of the Umoja-Ubaka Project. Among the courses she teaches are Introduction to Psychology (1A), Social Psychology (6), Introduction to Research Methods in Psychology (28), and Lifespan Human Development (21).

Tarek ElJarrari earned his BS in Psychology from the University of Wisconsin – Madison, and his MA in Counseling Psychology from the College of Notre Dame in Belmont, CA. His international clinical and teaching experience spans 2 decades. Among the classes he teaches at Laney are Introduction to Psychology (1A), Lifespan Human Development (21), Abnormal Psychology (24), and Psychology of Childhood (7A). He is currently also serving his 2nd term as Co-Chair of the Social Sciences Division.
