Laney College, together with the Peralta Community College District, is excited to announce the launch of the new class search tool, now live on all four college websites—Laney College, Berkeley City College, College of Alameda, and Merritt College plus the district web. Released earlier this month, the redesigned tool makes it faster and easier for students across the district to explore available classes, plan their schedules, and prepare for registration.

A More User-Friendly Search
The new class search has been built with students in mind. Key features include:
-
No login required to browse available classes
-
Streamlined, mobile-friendly design with the same look and feel as each college’s website
-
Reliable performance, with fewer connection issues or timeouts
-
Flexible search options, allowing students to find classes by course title, subject, or session dates
Students can review course details, see real-time availability, and plan ahead—all without logging in.
Collaboration Behind the Scenes
The launch of the new class search was the result of teamwork across the district and trusted partners:
-
Aaron Harbour, Web Content Developer for the Peralta District and Chanda Brewer, Web Content Developer for Laney College, collaborated closely with Instrumental Group, the vendor who built the platform.
-
The District IT team provided essential backend support, ensuring PeopleSoft integrated smoothly with the new system.
-
Amany ElMasry, Curriculum & Systems Tech Analyst, played a key role in testing the search filters to ensure accuracy and usability.
This collective effort means students at all four colleges now have a tool that not only works better, but also truly reflects the needs of the Peralta community.
Important Reminders
-
To officially enroll in classes, students must log in to Campus Solutions.
-
Lecture and lab courses are linked. Though they appear separate on the class search, you must enroll in both together.
-
Even if a class appears as “Open,” it will close after its enrollment deadline.
