The ART & CRAFT of Carpentry, Fabrication Lab & Wood Technology at Laney College

This show runs from March 18th – April 18th with a reception on April 10th from 4:00pm – 6:oopm.

Closing reception and special presentation by Japanese Joinery instructor Jay van Arsdale, April 17 from 4:00pm – 5:00pm.

The First Annual Juried Student Exhibition

All Laney College Students are invited to submit their artwork. All mediums considered.

Cash awards for Best Painting, Best Ceramic work, Best of Show are generously provided by the Norma Hongisto Scholarship Fund through the Peralta Colleges Foundation.

How To Submit Your Work

You must be a current Laney College student to participate.

Open to all mediums
Submit up to 5 individual artworks using jpegs or MP4s for video/performance. Include only one artwork per image. You may include up to two images for each artwork you are submitting.
Image files should be labeled like this:

Last Name_First Name_Title
Bio/Artist statement: Include a brief statement of up to 100 words that includes your current area of study, your background, and a little something about your work. This may be included in show materials. We will edit for clarity.

Important Dates:

Submission deadline – Monday, April 8
Notification of accepted work – Wednesday, April 17
Work drop off – Tuesday, April 22

Spring 2024 Art Department Faculty Show

The June Steingart Gallery at Laney College will be showcasing a dynamic collection of paintings, sculptures, ceramics, and photography created by our esteemed faculty. Join us in celebrating the creativity and talent of our vibrant artistic community.

The exhibition will be on view from February 7 to March 7, with a public reception scheduled for February 14 from 4:00 to 5:00 pm.
