Dream Roots: Tus Recetas

Reception for the Artists – September 2, 2022, 3–6pm

Tu Recetas, Short Film Premier, September 26, 6–8pm

Dream Roots: Tus Recetas Is an intergenerational exhibition that explores strategies of connection between youth, adults, and elders living in the same community. The project searches for responsibility between the different generations in the creation of supportive and inclusive communities. Working through collectives, organizations, and independent artists the project’s aim was to organize in the time of COVID 19,  seeking to provide activities for elders and connection for youth. Using recipes as a point of departure, we documented different flavors of the Fruitvale district, while participating artists were asked to engage by creating drawings, paintings, sculptures, and videos.
