Classroom Visits

Bring Laney Resources to Your Students

Laney College offers a wide range of student services designed to support academic success, wellness, and campus engagement. One of the easiest ways to help students access these resources is by inviting departments directly into the classroom.

Faculty and instructors can request brief presentations from departments such as Counseling, Financial Aid, Tutoring, Student Life, Mental Health Services, Medical Services, Learning Communities, and more. These visits help ensure students—especially those who are new to college—are aware of the support systems available to them and feel empowered to take advantage of what Laney has to offer.

Whether you're teaching a first-year seminar, general education course, or program-specific class, a quick visit from a student services representative can help your students stay informed, connected, and on track.

Eagle's Nest - Basic Needs

Help students learn about free resources for food, clothing, transportation, technology, and more. Request a Basic Needs presentation to connect your class with essential support services at Laney.

Financial Aid

Make sure your students know how to access grants, scholarships, and other financial support. Invite the Financial Aid team to your class for a presentation on how to apply, stay eligible, and get help paying for college.

Mental Health Services

Support your students’ well-being by inviting a presentation on Laney’s free mental health services. Students will learn how to access counseling, stress management tools, and emotional support resources available on campus.

Medical Services

Introduce your students to the free healthcare resources available through the Peralta Student Health Clinic. The clinic offers both in-person and telehealth appointments to support a wide range of medical needs—right here at Laney College.

Counseling

Help your students stay on track with their academic, career, and personal goals. Invite a counselor to your class to share how students can access academic planning, transfer guidance, and personal support at Laney College.

Tutoring

Show your students where to get extra support! Laney’s tutoring services offer free, one-on-one and group help in a variety of subjects. Invite a tutor to your class to explain how students can access these valuable academic resources.

Learning Communities

Help students find connection and support through Laney’s Learning Communities. These programs offer a sense of belonging along with academic, cultural, and personal support. Invite a representative to share how students can get involved and thrive.

Student Government & Clubs

Encourage your students to get involved! Laney’s student government and clubs offer leadership opportunities, community building, and a chance to shape campus life. Invite a representative to share how students can participate and make their voices heard.
