Temporary, Part-Time Instructor

The ESOL department is always open to receive inquiries and CVs from qualified professionals. Please send a message of inquiry and CV to department chair Steve Zetlan:  szetlan@peralta.edu

Minimum qualifications include:

1. Possession of a Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in TESL, TESOL, applied linguistics with a TESL emphasis, linguistics with a TESL emphasis, English with a TESL emphasis, or education with a TESL emphasis;
OR
2. Possession of a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in TESL, TESOL, English with a TESL certificate, linguistics with a TESL certificate, applied linguistics with a TESL certificate, or any foreign language with a TESL certificate;
AND
possession of a Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university in linguistics, applied linguistics, English, composition, bilingual/bicultural studies, reading, speech, or any foreign language;
OR
3. May submit a fully satisfied lifetime California Community College Instructor Credential authorizing service to teach courses in TESOL.
(California credentials were no longer issued after July 1, 1990).
OR
4. The equivalent qualifications.
