In our continued effort to communicate out to the Laney Community the happenings at the Facilities Planning Committee (FPC), we report here significant topics and items from recent meetings – this is now a regular agenda item, to summarize the 2-3 highlights of each meeting.

10/6/19 meeting
1 Approved proposed District-wide Measure G fund distribution – next step is presentation at the PGC.
4/15/19 meeting
1 Two presentations regarding local development plans –
- Lake Merritt BART – EBALDC
- Kaiser Center Renovation – Orton Development
2 Approved facilities resource request prioritization from 2018-2019 “new” Comprehensive Program Review/Annual Program Updates
3/4/19 meeting
1 Formation of a task force/subcommittee to provide oversight of planning phase of how Measure G will be implemented.
2 Scheduled maintenance list needs to be updated and checked against previous years.
3 To improve student perceptions of student center, plan to hold bi-monthly meetings about student center conditions.
2/25/19 meeting
1 Creation of taskforce on homelessness and use of Laney overflow parking lot.
2 Co-hosting of Community Forum on development of Kaiser Convention Center on Saturday, March 2nd.
3 Investigation needed into what happened to deep cleaning projects, managed by the District. Possible resolution for deep cleaning.
