A²MEND

African American Male Education Network & Development
Laney A2MEND student

Overview

The A²MEND Laney College Chapter is rooted in community, culture, and connection. We are here to support African American men—and all students who align with our mission—in navigating college and life with confidence, purpose, and pride.

Backed by the statewide A²MEND network, our chapter is committed to fostering academic success, leadership development, and personal growth through culturally relevant programming, mentorship, and community building.

At Laney, A²MEND isn’t just a program—it’s a brotherhood.

Our Mission

To create an affirming space where Black men and other men of color can grow intellectually, emotionally, and professionally. We’re here to help students not just survive college—but thrive in it, and beyond.

Who Can Join?

Everyone is welcome.
If you’re committed to growth, community, and educational success, you’re already one of us.

Laney College does not discriminate on the basis of age, race, religion, color, gender identity, gender expression, sexual orientation, ancestry, citizenship, national origin, military or veteran status, disability, marital status, pregnancy, medical condition, and immigration status.
