Business and Administrative Services (BAS) provides financial, operational, and administrative support to help Laney College achieve its mission, vision, and values. Emergency Closure Procedures
Laney College has established procedures to guide decisions in the event of severe temperatures, HVAC malfunctions, or other safety risks. The College President, in consultation with district leadership, faculty, and student representatives, will determine when campus closure is necessary. Notifications will be issued promptly through official communication channels, and guidance will be provided for students and employees regarding responsibilities during the closure.

On-Campus Security Provider:
Laney College partners with Diligence Security Group to enhance campus security and support our commitment to safety.
Custodial Services is responsible for maintaining a clean environment within all buildings on the Laney College campus, including classrooms, common areas and offices. Additional responsibilities include grounds maintenance, event set-up and providing custodial supplies.
Services Provided
During the semester these services are not billable to the requesting department:
- Cleaning classroom carpets/floors, and vertical writing surfaces and trays
- Cleaning restrooms and replenishing supplies
- Cleaning windows
- Dusting common area surfaces
- Emptying trash cans in common areas
- Locking and unlocking keyed main entrances of buildings
- Maintaining and distributing custodial supplies
- Maintaining common area floors/carpets
- Ordering custodial supplies
- Replacing light bulbs
- Special event set-ups
- Vacuuming office, emptying trash and recycling
During the semester break these services are performed by Custodial Services:
- Deep cleaning, stripping and waxing of floors
- Pressure washing the grounds and facades of buildings
Services NOT Provided
- Move heavy furniture
- Move personal belongings in order to clean
- Clean laboratory, bench tops, countertops, sinks, or maintain sink-related items
- Personal carpeting and area rugs are not owned or maintained by Custodial Services

Food Services provides delicious and nutritious meals to Laney College students, faculty and staff.
Services Provided
- Catering: Limited catering services on and off campus for selected events.
- Laney Bistro - Collaborates with Culinary Arts Instruction to sell food in a formal dining environment. Menus are determined by the culinary courses taught. Located in Building E, access on the ground level from the side facing the estuary.
- Student Cafeteria- Collaborates with Culinary Arts Instruction to market and sell food in a cafeteria. Located in the Student Center, 2nd floor.
Catering Services will help you plan the ideal menu for your event. Please contact the Food Services Supervisor at least 10 days prior to the event with the number of attendees, budget, desired layout, amenities, time of event, setup and breakdown needs.

Store Keeper Services manages all incoming materials, supplies and equipment delivered to Laney College from the Peralta Community College warehouse.
Services Provided
- Removes unused furniture and equipment from campus facilities
- Tracks the status of purchase orders delivered to the District warehouse
