Exam 2, lab reports, and homeworks have been graded. Please pick up your materials in class. Everything you have submitted so far (as of our 4/9 meeting) has been graded. Exam #2 solutions are posted with the 4/9 materials.
I’ll also have a semester grade check ready… we are 299 of 700 points deep into the semester… almost half way pointwise… with 6 more class meetings remaining, including Exam #3 on 5/14 and the Final Exam on 5/21.
Lecture this week will cover Chapter 7. Please read ahead. There may be many new concepts such as energy, heat, specific heat, endothermic, exothermic, Gibbs Free Energy, chemical equilibrium (Le Chatlier principle), rate of reaction, and catalyst. We will cover mostly calculations with these quantities. Some level of familiarity with these terms, as obtained by reading your textbook, will enhance your classroom learning.

Lab this week is Exp #7: Specific Heat of a Metal. Enter your data into the report sheet, perform your calculations on the report sheet (with equations, math, and units), and answer the questions at the ends of both the report sheet (2 quantitative problems) and the lab manual (2 qualitative questions). You can answer the qualitative questions from the lab manual on the back of a report sheet page.
